I’ve never had a headshot taken before. Can you talk me through the process?
It’s very simple. I’ll spend some time getting to know you, your career and your wants for the future (which roles you dream to book, not where you want to live when you retire, unless it's very interesting), then we’ll have a look through the clothing options you bring and begin shooting. I like to have music on and chat throughout the shoot, so come equipped with some good stories that make you laugh or even cry. We’ll cycle through the different outfits you’ve brought for the time you’ve booked. I’ll make sure I’ve captured all the emotions we discussed, and when the time is up I’ll kick you out.
What happens once the headshot shoot is over?
We both shed a tear when I close the door behind you. Then I’ll send you a gallery of images, with all unusable images removed, for you to go through and find your favourites. Depending on your choice of package, you will favourite the number of photos you want edited, and I will return them to you within two weeks of receiving your favourites list.
What do I need to bring with me for a headshot session?
Please bring a change of multiple tops. These tops / shirts / blouses / jumpers / vests / tankinis / jackets should be a mixture of textures and colours so we can see what works best with your skin tone. Also, anything that helps you embody different characters when you change is ideal. Please bring anything you need for hair and makeup touch-ups.
The space where I create is a spare room in my house in the middle of nowhere. Would you still come?
Sounds glorious, yes please! The space I create is also a spare room in my house, and I truly love visiting the middle of nowhere (unless sinister…). I can gladly quote for travel, and there's no shame, everyone’s space is different shapes and sizes. That's exactly what I want to capture!

Where are you based?
I have a home studio in North London, a stone's throw from the Emirates. The closest stations are Archway, Finsbury Park, Holloway Road or Upper Holloway. I shoot in natural light in a very relaxed environment to make you feel most at ease, to ensure I can capture the real you.
Do you shoot with film?
Yes, for artists' shoots I would encourage most images to be captured on film and digital, but for headshots, due to the amount of images captured, I tend to stick to digital only. If film is something you really want, we can discuss.
Can I bring my friend with me?
Unfortunately not. Unless you are under 18, I would encourage you to come alone so we can make sure there are no distractions and capture everything you need. If you have a dog, though, the dog can come.
Something has come up at the last minute and I need to reschedule my shoot.
No problem at all. This is why I ask for a 50% deposit on booking, but I would appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to move your session—24 hours or more where you can.
Really enjoyed my headshot session! It was relaxed and easygoing, and felt more like a chat with a friend than a photoshoot. Kate has a lovely, friendly energy that puts you at ease, and she makes great use of natural light. I'm really happy with the photos and would definitely recommend her to other actors.
